Intro

As the "green"movement continues to gain steam, with companies (I read) hiring sustainability officers, it occurs to me that there has to be a role for lawyer in this. There are many lawyer that work in the area of environmental law, but what about lawyer that serve the burgeoning interest in "green" commerce? Of course, lawyers are already involved all aspects of these business, from IP to transactional work to litigation, but is there a more unique role for lawyers in this field? Maybe only in that such a lawyer would primarily represent "green" businesses. (I put green in quotations because the term means different things to different people - GE trying to add green initiatives is different from the small farmer putting up a stall at the local farmer's market.) I'm not sure, and that's the impetus for this blog, to explore that possibility.
